Rumors say AWOL Axl Rose trying to reform classic lineup

Does anyone know where Axl Rose is?

Axl Rose's AWOL status for the last two months would make sense to me if Axl Rose wants to promote Guns 'N Roses as an actual band and, pending that, is staying out of the limelight until he has a real band to present to the world to support a real Chinese Democracy album and tour.

In short, he has one chance to make a first impression with the new G 'N R lineup and he doesn't want to do so until the lineup is solid. As to original members coming back... I'd like that and I think most fans would as well. We'll see what happens! In the meantime I love the album.

Rolling Stone reviews Chinese Democracy

Chinese Democracy : Guns N' Roses : Review : Rolling Stone

David Fricke gave the album four of five stars, which is a good minimum but isn't enough. I give it at least four and a half or even five.

Feds criticize banks for unfair overdraft practices

Government agency overseeing banks criticizes bank fees - WalletPop Blog

This is no surprise to me. I've been pretty heavily taxed by these practices myself. $35 for being $2 negative for ten minutes is highway robbery. Perhaps our president-elect can roll a bill tackling this issue into his stimulus package?

Sony and Microsoft: See no evil...

Why won't Sony or Microsoft admit Nintendo is a competitor? | The Digital Home - CNET News

This story is hilarious. Sony and Microsoft both deny the Wii is a direct competitor to their systems. I see this as the equivalent to a four year old little girl stamping her feet, putting her hands over her ears, and screaming "I can't hear you, nanny, nanny, nannnnnny!"

Clue for Sony and Microsoft: Wii is beating your egomachines senseless. Denying it won't help your systems. If it was not a direct competitor, there would not be games like The Force Unleashed released on all three systems.

Critiquing the Critics: A decent review of Chinese Democracy (God forbid!)

A vote for 'Chinese Democracy' - The Boston Globe

Much of the criticisms I've seen for Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy have been fairly standard "I have to bash it if I'm a critic and it's not a favorite band of mine" nonsense, but this one is pretty balanced and humorous to boot. My personal opinion is that the album was worth the wait and Axl Rose has grown phenomenally as a musician. Each song on the album is quality, and even though two of the songs (10 and 14) aren't exactly favorites of mine, but I haven't liked an album this much for a long time. I think the last album I heard that affected me this much was Def Leppard's Hysteria. Some critics hailed both albums as "overproduced." Funny, far more people bought these two albums than would ever read those "critiques."
